Technical Assistance

Whether it’s pipe-sizing calculations, HVAC design or codes and standards, Laclede Gas’ Utilization Engineering representatives can offer you practical advice and technical assistance on a wide range of industry issues.  Select from the links below to learn more:

Natural Gas Pipe Sizing

Sizing natural gas distribution piping systems can be challenging, and Laclede Gas Company can help with calculations of pressure drops and optimum pipe size recommendations – conveniently summarized on a computerized spreadsheet.  Based on calculations from the National Fuel Gas Code and International Mechanical Code, the program can not only help you save time in your calculations, but it can help you minimize your material and labor costs.  For more information contact our Utilization Department at (314) 342-0723 or (314) 342-0673.

HVAC Design Tools

Building system design has reached a new level of maturity, and attention is focused now more than ever on equipment performance, energy efficiency and sustainability.  With that in mind, Laclede Gas Company has partnered with Engineering Software International, Inc. to offer HVAC Design Tool software.   This program enables engineering designers to perform the calculations required in their daily activities in considerably less time (thereby significantly enhancing their productivity). The Programs currently available include the "basic package" necessary in any design engineering office to provide the maximum usefulness, maximum benefit and greatest time savings. It is ESI's intent to continually expand the program offerings, ultimately providing every calculation one would need in the design of an HVAC system. Click here to get started.
